Service Coordinator (Family Support)

Every day, 12 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Our client is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, offering them care and support every step of the way. You can be a part of helping them live their life to the full.

Position: Service Co-ordinator
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire (Commutable from, Bicester, Aylesbury, Thame, Witney and surrounding areas)
Job type: Part Time, 18 months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 28 Hours per week
Salary: £24,161 per annum (FTE)

About the role:

This is an exciting new post that will initially be for an 18 month period. It requires a person who has the skills and confidence to be the first contact from the organisation with families, where their child has been recently diagnosed with cancer, as well as young people.

This will involve making direct contact with families and young people at the two main hospitals in Oxford and liaising to offer indirect support across many other hospitals within the region.

The post holder will be an important new member of their established and experienced Social Care Team in Oxford.

About you:

All applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills as being a good listener is vital.

They particularly want to encourage people from under-represented groups to step forward and apply to work or volunteer with the organisation.

This post will require a DBS check.
