Services Development Manager (Secondary Breast Cancer)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about ensuring that people with breast cancer and their families get the best possible support? At Breast Cancer Care, we are committed to providing the emotional, social and practical support and information that people need following a diagnosis of breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care’s strategy, Facing breast cancer together, commits to ensuring that by 2020 everyone who is affected by breast cancer has access to and is aware of our services.
Our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer services now operate in over 35 locations around the UK with more planned. We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our team to ensure the continued successful delivery and high quality of these services, maximising their reach and the benefits to those who attend. This is a fixed-term post while the post-holder is seconded to another role.
The successful candidate will have experience of service management and development, experience of working with sensitive or vulnerable groups and confidence in developing and maintaining relationships with health professionals and therapists. You will have a problem-solving, can-do attitude and be able to combine innovation and creativity with an evidence-based approach. With a willingness to travel, you will have the ability to work as part of a busy team and with other teams across different geographical sites and be comfortable with matrix management arrangements. We are looking for excellent organisational and time management skills, highly-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to multitask.
Breast Cancer Care is the only specialist UK-wide charity dedicated to providing support for people affected by breast cancer. We’re excited to tell you that in April 2019, we’re merging with the UK’s leading breast cancer research charity.
From research to care, our new charity will have people affected by breast cancer at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we’ll have the ability to carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign more effectively for better services and care.
Breast Cancer Care is an inclusive employer committed to developing a diverse workforce.
