Job Summary:

To generate income for our client by maximising all opportunities to build relationships within the corporate community across Yorkshire and Humberside, with particular focus outside of Leeds to expand their reach. To maintain and develop successful partnerships with corporate supporters, specifically through donations, sponsorship, employee fundraising and events.

 

An important part of this role is to research, identify and recruit high-value relationships with key corporate funders to support a number of major events and campaigns.

 

Responsible to: Head of Income Development

 

Key Relationships: 

The post holder will work closely with their existing Corporate Fundraiser as well as alongside a team the wider team including a Senior Community Fundraiser, two Community Fundraisers and a Fundraising Assistant.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the annual budget in line with the fundraising strategy. To deliver corporate income to contribute to the annual income target currently £1.6million of the Fundraising Department. 

• Develop networks and links across the business community in Yorkshire and Humberside, to raise sustainable income and to build a pipeline of long-term supporters, identifying and securing new corporate partnerships. 

• Maintain and develop the existing portfolio of corporate relationships across the region, outside of the Leeds area. 

• Provide excellent stewardship and an outstanding experience to corporate supporters to maximise income for them. 

• Deliver a bespoke communication and contact strategy to ensure effective stewardship. 

• Secure high levels of retention of corporate supporters. 

• Secure sponsorship for their major fundraising events, research and services through the development of strong pitches and research of potential sponsors to target.

• Research, develop and secure new charity of the year partnerships, whilst supporting existing ones effectively. 

• To actively promote participation in their activity-based fundraising by corporate employees e.g. treks, skydives and running events. Ensuring that all charity initiatives and activities are well-promoted to your target audience. 

• Act as an ambassador for them, representing the charity at external events, including a wide variety of networking events and undertake public speaking.

• Develop and manage corporate initiatives such as campaigns and networking opportunities. Organising cultivation events throughout the year. 

• Research existing, past and prospective corporate supporters in conjunction with the Head of Income Development and Harlequin database and to determine the best, tailored fundraising approach for each. 

• Promote all their trading and communication activities to relevant corporate partners. 

• Support the department by making presentations to specific target groups to promote them and attend cheque presentations. 

• To record all relevant information on the fundraising database as required and to maintain up to date records. To acknowledge all donations and support as required. 

• To work closely with the finance team and fundraising team to ensure that corporate supporters are thanked and followed up for further support appropriately and timely. 

• Attend fundraising team meetings and actively contribute to the development of new fundraising ideas. 

• To ensure a regular flow of local news is fed to the team for social media to raise the profile of the charity and awareness of corporate support, as well as providing support and advice to develop their own press opportunities and promotion. 

• Liaise with media to maximise PR for their corporate supporters and the charity. 

• To be responsible for your own administration and efficiently organise all your own activities, with the support of the Fundraising Assistant. 

• Display strong analytical skills to evaluate all activity using the Harlequin database. 

• To actively participate in individual performance review and any training or development identified to further enhance your role with them. 

• Any other duties reasonably assigned by the Head of Income Development and Charity Director.

 

Measures of Performance:

• Achieve income targets and non-financial targets as set by the Head of Income Development 

• Increase the corporate supporter base in the Yorkshire area, outside of Leeds. 

• Secure significant corporate sponsorship for events 

• Degree of enhancement of their profile within the business community 

• Quality and effectiveness of administration 

• Quality and effectiveness of teamwork and good working relationships with the broader team 

• Degree of enhancement of their profile as an ambassador for the organisation
