Working across England and Wales our team of 700 trained and passionate volunteers provide marriage preparation and relationship counselling through our 50 centres and 100 counselling locations. We are the second largest relationship counselling provider and the largest single provider of marriage preparation in the UK.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Write compelling fundraising appeals, web site copy, blogs, newsletters and trust proposals.
  • Research of potential trusts and foundations, building ongoing relationships and reporting on project delivery.
  • Oversee excellent relationship building, stewardship and thanking of supporters.
  • Recruit new supporters through a mix of digital, direct marketing and personal fundraising techniques and cultivate supporter relationships.
  • Work closely with colleagues responsible for communications and digital engagement to coordinate plans and messages to external audiences and also with volunteers to enable them to fund raise at a local level.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven success in delivering fundraising campaigns on or over target, to budget and tight deadlines.
  • Project management and organisational skills with proven experience of managing multiple campaigns at the same time.
  • Experience of using fundraising techniques to recruit and retain supporters in order to build lifetime value.
  • The ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of analysing campaign results and preparing reports.
  • Good communication skills in order to work effectively with a wide range of colleagues and partners.
  • Research skills – experience of researching potential trusts or other funders based on specific criteria.
  • Experience of and ability to write compelling accurate trust applications and successfully securing restricted programme income.
  • Strong written, verbal skills in order to write compelling copy and persuade key audiences to support Marriage Care.
  • Experience of working with volunteers or community groups supporting and resourcing them to fundraise.
  • A positive, friendly, open, can do attitude to work and working as part of a wider team to assist colleagues when required.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the work of Marriage Care - able to subscribe to and share in its vision, mission, ethos and values.

This role is based in Nottingham but requires some flexibility to travel.
