Founded in 2011, The Patchwork Foundation is a UK-based not for profit organisation and our mission is To promote, encourage and support the active participation of young people from under-represented, deprived and minority communities in British democracy and civil society.

Following five years of successful organic growth led by its enthusiastic team of volunteers, the Patchwork Foundation has embarked upon a programme of growth and development in terms of both scale and impact. As a key plank of its strategic growth plan, the Foundation has recently secured its registration as a Charitable Incorporated Foundation (CIO) with the Charity Commission.

Following its registration as a charity, the Foundation recruited Farmida Bi (Chair, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP) as Chair of Trustees. To support Farmida’s leadership and to join the other trustees of the Foundation, Patchwork is now seeking to appoint up to three additional trustees to support the Foundation in the next exciting phase of its development.  Following a mapping of the skills and experience of the current trustees, the Board would particularly welcome applications from individuals with the following expertise:

  • Charitable fundraising
  • Politics
  • PR and marketing

The trustees are particularly interested in receiving applications from:

  • those with an understanding of the beneficiary groups the Foundation seeks to serve; and,
  • those who are earlier in their careers who are well-placed to understand the issues facing Patchwork beneficiaries. of those from similar backgrounds as those we seek to serve through our programmes.

It is particularly important to the Foundation to recruit a diversely-drawn Board which includes strong representation of those from similar backgrounds as those we seek to serve through our programmes.
