Support Worker / Classroom Assistant

Our client is a hidden gem located within 68 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire parkland between the towns of Harlow and Bishops Stortford. They manage a specialist Children’s Home, School, College, Residential Home and Day Centre for people with Epilepsy and other complex needs.

Position: Childrens Residential & Classroom Support Worker
Location: Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire (Commutable from Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Enfield and surrounding areas)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 days to include a mixture of shifts (07:00 to 14:30 or 14:15 to 21:45 with 20 minutes paid break) and 2 in 4 weekends.
Salary: £17,459 to £20,219 per annum (£8.95 to £10.37 per hour)

About the role:

They are currently looking for enthusiastic, caring and compassionate people to join their dedicated team of Children’s Residential Home & Classroom Support Workers. You will be supporting the residents with their learning in the classroom and with day to day tasks at home in their well-appointed on-site bungalows. From assisting the residents with learning in class to helping them pursue their chosen activities after school - this is a truly unique role where no two days are the same.

About you:

Supporting their residents to become independent, happy, young adults is extremely rewarding but can, at times, be challenging. They are looking for people with excellent communication skills who are resilient, organised, and work well as part of a team. Experience and qualifications are not essential, as they offer full training and development support through the trainee programme.

You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Social Care, Voluntary Sector, Healthcare Assistant, Care Staff, Not for Profit, NFP, Residential Support Worker, Children’s Residential Worker, Children’s Residential & Classroom Support Worker, Children’s Residential, Classroom Assistant, Learning Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, LSA, etc.
