Positive Behaviour Support Workers (Ref: PBSW-0618) for a brand new Autism Specialist Support Service

Salary: £20,202 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, bank holidays, waking nights and sleep-ins.

Our client is a friendly and growing charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality services to children and adults with learning disabilities and their families, in North London.

They have an exciting opportunity opening up as they look to recruit a new team of friendly and positive people to work in a brand new positive behaviour support project for a young man with autism, mild learning disabilities and complex behaviours, who is moving to his own home for the first time in Barnet, North London. The planned start date for this project is end of October 2018.

They are looking for calm and compassionate people to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of the young man they support; to empower him to make choices and help him build and maintain relationships with his family and friends. You will help him to develop interests and attend exciting activities and assist with everyday living – including his personal care and health needs – whilst actively encouraging his independence.

The right candidates will have a high attention to detail to be able to provide consistent support, maintain and follow guidelines and risk assessments closely in order to ensure the safety of the young man and the public. An understanding of autism and positive behaviour support would be advantageous. The role requires a proactive approach with the ability to think on your feet and maintain warm and positive communication to nurture a calm environment. Ideal candidates will also enjoy taking part in a range of sports and outdoor activities, as they will be regularly supporting the young man with these.

So if you are positive, flexible, have good communication, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills, this role may be just right for you!

They welcome Greek speaking applicants as the person they support speaks both Greek and English, however, this is not a necessity of the role.

A full clean EU driving licence is essential for this role.

They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk and they are looking to recruit people who share these values. All our offers of employment are therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.

How to apply: Please submit a copy of your CV along with the application form below.

They would also appreciate if you could complete a Diversity Monitoring Form.

Please refer to the Job Description & matching criteria prior to completing your application.

This role will include a second interview with the service user to ensure Support Workers are suitably matched.

They are an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications form all sections of the community.
