Job Details
Job Purpose:
1. To conduct enquiries and research designed to identify and rescue victims of human trafficking and modern slavery and facilitate access to appropriate support.
2. To build networks with relevant stakeholders engaged in similar work and/or in areas where potential victims of modern slavery may access services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Actively develop networks and engage with our client's stakeholders to identify potential victims of modern slavery
• Identify victims and witnesses and obtain accounts in ways that demonstrate integrity and compassion for vulnerable victims
• Gather information, working closely and communicating with their colleagues, law enforcement agencies and non-government organisations, analysing and interpreting data and bringing any new evidence or intelligence in the enquiry to the notice of the UK Programme Director
• Collect all relevant documentation and information required in an investigation to form an overall picture of the case
• Complete intelligence reports for sharing with appropriate law enforcement agencies
• Compile and maintain case files including, where appropriate, evidential or disclosure material
• Develop and maintain working relationships with multi-agency partners
• Represent them at meetings and make presentations when required
• Assist in the delivery of their training
• Work flexible hours as required to respond to the needs of victims
• Carry out duties relating to Slave-Free Alliance (their business membership scheme), including site visits, research and threat assessments, as well as developing potential leads
• Work at all times in line with their policies and procedures and actively promote their culture and values within your area of work
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager
Experience & Qualifications:
• Experience of gathering information or intelligence with preference to criminal or civil outcomes
• Experience of making presentations and public speaking
• Ideally, experience of working with vulnerable people, preferably victims of sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, bonded labour or domestic servitude; or experience of working with sex workers, street based homelessness, refugees and those with mental health or substance misuse issues
• Ideally, experience of conducting interviews and taking statements or obtaining information from victims, witnesses or other vulnerable people
• Experience of working in partnership with multi-agencies
• Ideally, a working knowledge of other nationalities and cultures, including language skills
• Full UK driving licence.
