Finance Officer 

Our client has an exciting new challenge and is looking to appoint the following key post within their centralised admin team. 

They are a National Charity supporting people with learning disabilities and their families. Everything they do focuses on helping the people they support live the best life possible. They are committed to supporting people with learning disabilities to live the life they choose; therefore, the day to day management of all financial transactions are a key element in ensuring choice for the people they support and also provide sustainability and instigate the process of decision making across the organisation. 

Position: Finance Officer 
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire (Commutable from Leeds, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield, Keighley, Harrogate and surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, 12 Months Fixed Term Contract 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: Starting at £21,136 rising to £21,742 after completion of successful probationary

About the role: 

This role will support the Contract Business and Finance Support Manager during a period of changing financial and business requirements locally in Bradford 

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the client's financial transactions and procedures locally through this period of considerable change. This role will also supply monthly data analysis to support the contract and operational management team to develop the business moving forward. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will have GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5 (or C) and above / equivalent, a professional qualification in accounting such as AAT is considered a plus but not essential. You will have proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role with an understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits / credits and journal postings. 

You will need strong knowledge of using computerised accounting packages, reporting and maintaining the chart of accounts and you will have advanced MS Excel skills and competency on other Microsoft Office packages. 

You will be able to work flexibly and have the capacity to stay away from home overnight if needed occasionally for meetings and training. You also require possession of a full current UK / EU driving licence and be prepared to drive for them.
