We are recruiting for a Head of Major Gifts to join our dynamic, highly respected and fast-growing Development and Alumni Relations (DARO) team. A redefined position, this is the opportunity to lead a highly successful Major Gifts Team at a time of extraordinary growth and success. The Team have secured three £1million gifts and a £10million gift in the last 18months, representing a significant step change in our fundraising. You will be leading a team of 11, working with the Deputy Director DARO - Executive Head of Philanthropy to deliver sustained growth in our fundraising to meet the University’s bold ambitions.

You will be an excellent and inspiring leader, who can act as coach and mentor to the team at the same time as being an effective manager. A successful fundraiser in your own right, you will be able to lead by example taking responsibility for your own portfolio of key contacts. You will be motivated by being part of change and growth, with the desire to play an active role in setting the strategy for the next five years for Philanthropy at the University of Bristol. Finally, you will have a strong belief in the importance of universities to society, and a knowledge of the financial challenges facing the higher education sector and the role of philanthropy.
