Depaul UK has worked with homeless young people for 30 years and supported over 65,000 people. The charity is passionate about the difference they make, particularly for young people. Mike Thiedke, the new Chief Executive of Depaul UK, has joined the organisation in May 2018. His predecessor led the charity through a time of change, leading to significant growth in excess of £16m diversified income. The charity is currently embarking on a journey to lead on the prevention of youth homelessness and to shape the future of accommodation services for young people in the UK.
Position: Executive Director of Finance, IT and Organisational Performance

Salary: £75,000
This newly created role of Executive Director of Finance, IT and Organisational Performance will be part of a small Executive Team and have the opportunity to build on the charity’s success; with high ambitions, modern business process, renewed vigour and a strong focus on working collaboratively – with our Board, the staff; the wider Depaul International Group, the Vincentian Family in the UK, communities from all faiths, and key community commissioners and partners.
The role of Executive Director of Finance, IT and Organisational Performance is to provide strategic oversight and leadership of financial strategy, business planning, monitoring and reporting and ensuring budgetary control, effective facilities management, strengthening organisational performance including through IT, overseeing statutory and regulatory compliance and quality assurance matters and ensuring effective governance.
Extensive experience and/or knowledge of managing the various functional areas that come with this complex job are a requirement but the Executive Director must also bring an exemplary record of leadership both in complex income generating organisations, but most importantly of people and relationships.
We are seeking:
•A Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA), with significant post-qualification experience in financial senior management positions with a track record of producing outstanding financial strategy, planning, reporting, monitoring and budgeting
•Good knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulation including SORP and application
•A passionate commitment and a genuine interest in Depaul UK’s mission and importantly our values.
•An individual who has the necessary credibility and is authentic, compelling and credible with a complex set of stakeholders will help to shape and then thrive in a culture of collaboration, empowerment, ambition, innovation and fast-paced change.
