Job Details

Esmee Fairbairn is a leading grant-making and social finance foundation which funds the arts, environmental, social change, food, children and young people sectors, and is currently working to recruit an Executive Assistant to the CEO on a maternity cover contract (lasting up to twelve months).

The Foundation considers work which other organisations may find hard to fund, perhaps because it breaks new ground, appears too risky, requires core funding or needs a more unusual form of financial support. It also takes initiatives where new thinking is required or there is an unexplored opportunity. It is one of the largest independent funding organisations in the UK, with an endowment of c.£1bn and currently commits around £40 million annually in funding to over 300 diverse organisations. In addition, the Foundation has a social investment fund (£45 million) which makes investments that have a social as well as financial return.

This vital role will provide comprehensive and wide-ranging administrative support to the CEO at its core and will also offer team support to the Social Investment Team in addition to broader administrative responsibilities around specific grants programmes. This person will represent an essential part of the resources team as a whole and will work collaboratively with other team members to meet deadlines and to ensure the smooth running of the CEO's office and wider services across the foundation.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working in busy office environments where they will have provided and lead on a wide range of administrative support with emphasis on excellent customer care, professionalism and attention to detail. This person will be bright, dynamic and intellectually curious with a positive 'can-do' attitude. IT savvy, open to others views and empathetic, this person will be a real team player with a calm and measured approach. This person could have worked for a charity or in a corporate environment or both but a genuine interest in the voluntary sector will be useful. This role represents a superb opportunity for someone to get very involved with this leading UK funder and to build broader knowledge in the charity sector.

This role is offered on a maternity contract for up to 12 months.

Interviews will take place on 27th November 2018 (Kings Cross).
