The National Museum of the Royal Navy is recruiting for a Campaign Communications Coordinator to join the fundraising team at The National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional multimedia communicator to use your skills across multiple channels including digital and traditional to really influence the outcome of important campaigns at the forefront of naval heritage that will ensure that our Royal Navy story is told to the widest audience possible.

Key Opportunities

  • The post will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and PR Manager to implement the Museum’s campaign strategy for capital projects including the SeaMore project, for a new Royal Marines Museum and national collection centre.
  • This is a varied role where you will be involved at a strategic level working alongside senior personnel and external stakeholders but also very hands-on, responsible for delivering your own workload.
  • It is an exceptional chance to influence campaigns using your creative communication skills to drive reach, revenue and reputation.

Knowledge/Experience

  • A confident self-starter at ease with senior personnel, external stakeholders and working across directorates at all levels
  • A current understanding of digital marketing and content production, video creation and social media that is visually appealing, engaging, instantly recognisable, unique and personable.
  • You will be a superb communicator with a professional standard of writing and be confident with writing copy for numerous channels including media releases.
  • Knowledge of Royal Navy/Royal Marines desirable.
  • A good “nose” for news and political acumen, especially in the digital arena.
