Chief Executive Officer
The Orpheus Centre was founded by Sir Richard Stilgoe and Dr Michael Swallow in 1998 to inspire young disabled adults (18 - 25 years) to learn and improve their independence skills through performing arts.
Twenty years later Orpheus is an Independent Specialist College which empowers young disabled people to speak for themselves, to access education and work opportunities, housing and other public services to live independent and fulfilling lives.
We are looking for a passionate and commercially astute Chief Executive to deliver strategic and inspirational leadership to Orpheus and ensure the highest standards of delivery in all the services we offer.
With an income of just over £3m, the Chief Executive will devise and deliver a new five year plan that will diversify funding streams, take their Ofsted rating from 'Good' to 'Outstanding' and enable Orpheus to continue to deliver high quality education.
The successful candidate will have proven strategic experience of supporting people with disabilities in further education alongside a track record of leading change and growing income. Critical to your success will be your outstanding interpersonal and networking skills, interest in the performing and visual arts and your enthusiasm for transforming the lives of young disabled people.
