Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected.

Position: Project Coordinator (Experts by Experience Project)
Location: Coventry, Warwickshire, & Solihull
Job type: Part-Time, Permanent
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Salary: £21,000 to £25,700 per annum Pro Rata

About the role:

Are you passionate about championing the rights of marginalised communities and disadvantaged groups?

Do you have experience of supporting people with disabilities in the workplace?

They are looking for a proactive and dynamic Project Coordinator to support experts by experience in carrying out their role at Care and Treatment Reviews (CTR), Care, Education and Treatment Reviews (CETR) and Local Emergency Area Protocols (LEAP) for service users and their families across the regions of Coventry Warwickshire, and Solihull.

You will be managing whilst working, closely and collaboratively with a diverse team of up to ten “Experts by Experience”: people who have personal experience (as a carer or a patient) of care and treatment under an inpatient service for people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health issues. You will lead the team in offering a perspective that is informed by experience, enabling service reviews to take the views of the service user into consideration. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with great networking skills, and be experienced in building inclusive community relationships.

About you:

- Have at least 2 years’ experience working either in the statutory or voluntary sector in a specialist or senior level capacity
- Have experience of supporting people with disabilities within the workplace
- Have experience of managing relationships and representing an organisation externally, with excellent communication and networking skills
- Have experience of Project Management and Line Management and ability to manage a variety of different tasks at the same time
- Have experience of managing a service within limited budgets
- Be able to work with a range of people in different settings, treating people with dignity and respect and promoting respect for the value of difference
- Have good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Have a full driving licence, access to a car and be willing and able to travel frequently around the geographical area

Desirable skills or experience:

- Experience of Service User Involvement
- Experience of Charity and Third Sector
- Understanding of the Transforming Care Agenda and the role of CTR’s for this cohort Contract Management / Compliance experience
- Experience of working with all client groups

Please note: this role will involve extensive travel across Coventry Warwickshire and Solihull.
