Relief Support Worker 

Supporting someone to get dressed, to helping them plan a family event. Join them and help them change lives.    Our client is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. They put the people they support at the centre of everything they do and use their experience to work in partnership with them to provide personalised services to more than 3,000 people. 

Our client is a large service covering Lympne, Hawkinge, Hythe and Folkestone; they have vacancies for Relief Support Workers covering shifts for sickness or holidays in any of the South Kent services, so there is lots of scope for work. 

Position: Relief Support Worker 
Locations: South Kent - Lympne, Hawkinge, Hythe, Folkestone 
Hours: Various flexible hours available 
Hourly Rate: £7.83 aged 21 and over, or £7.26 between the ages 18-20 (plus 12.07% in lieu of holiday pay)

As a Relief Support Worker you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. In these roles, everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, creating flexible services that meet people’s needs and always looking for the best way of doing things. 

Relief work is very interesting as you not only get to choose when you are available for work, you could work in a number of houses meeting and supporting various people with different needs. 

Covering leave, training and sickness with hours that fit in with life's other commitments; this is an ideal way of discovering if this is the career for you. As they provide 24/7 support you can choose to work shifts which may be days, weekends, nights or Bank Holidays. 

About you: 

You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job – you’ll get plenty of training along the way. It’s great if you already have experience of learning disabilities, autism or dementia, but this is by no means essential. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible.
