This is a part-time time role, three days a week on a fixed-term contract for twelve months.

Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the charity's overall financial function, leading on all financial and management accounting. Acting as the key member of the finance team, day to day duties will include managing payroll, pension schemes, day to day accounting as well as maintaining tax, VAT and GiftAid regulations. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees to provide monthly performance against budget reports and full-year forecasts, as well as preparing papers for board meetings. You will be responsible for the year-end audit and statutory accounts, along with providing financial advice and information to other members of the leadership team, ensuring the organisation is compliant with all aspects of finance including current finance regulations. In addition, you will manage all banking activity including grants payments.

To be considered for this role, it is essential to have significant experience across all aspects of finance including payroll, forecasting, budgeting and cash management, as well as having knowledge of tax, VAT and HMRC. You are required to have a financial accounting qualification with excellent experience in Excel and accountancy software such as Sage. You will have the ability to work to your own initiative, leading and managing change and processes within the organisation. This role is ideally suited to someone with the ability to build effective relationships across the charity and with external partners. Experience of working in the not for profit sector is desirable.
