Head of Development

We are looking for a dynamic Head of Development with the passion and commitment to make a difference to the lives of local people in Essex, by increasing philanthropic giving to support local charities and voluntary organisations.  

With responsibility for income generation, you will devise and implement a development strategy that will generate new business and new contacts.  You will have a strong track record of achievement gained at a management level in either fundraising, sales, marketing, finance or business development.  In addition, you will have first class relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the capability to be recognised as a trusted adviser across a range of sectors and communities.  

Essex Community Foundation’s is the second largest community foundation in the UK and currently manages over £43 million of endowed funds.  As the leading funder in Essex, we have distributed over £33 million in grants to local voluntary and community organisations.  In the past 10 years our endowed funds have grown by 280% and we have ambitions to continue our growth so that we can provide more support to local communities.
