Our client is looking for someone to join an established training team in Cumbria to work across both their ‘Community Learning and Skills’ and ‘The Edge’ contracts.

As the Assessor and Training Officer you will be working with both unemployed and employed people, supporting them to gain skills before entering the work place and continue their learning journey whilst in work. Delivering both group and one to one training you will ensure that learners achieve their aims and show progression through a variety of opportunities.

A bit about you 
They want someone like you with the confidence to positively engage with the long term/unemployed customers and move them towards employment. You will be responsible for a caseload of work based learners to upskill, refresh or gain occupational competence in a variety of regulated/non regulated learning activities. You will be managing portfolios and assessing learners within the workplace you will ensure that learners achieve their NVQ qualification through a variety of ways. Working closely with colleagues you will need to market and identify potential learners eligible for the programmes.

In your role you will be responsible in delivering a combination of skills, and job focused training programmes, workshops and job search guidance. Proven experience of this is essential. Building relations will be a key part of your role, liaising with the recruitment team to access opportunities for your customers.

Your role will involve carrying out assessment of work based skills, ensuring any qualifications are achieved within a timely manner, and be a well-planned and organised applicant.

For this role you must have a good standard of GCSE in English, maths and ICT, a teaching and assessor qualification. Proven experience working as an assessor for work based qualifications, and supporting learners with the achievement of Functional Skills were necessary.
