The Organisation

CHK Charities was set up as a charitable trust by Sir Cyril Kleinwort in the 1970's and is now run as a family charity trust, based in London. The Trust is exclusively grant making with no fundraising or operating activities and annually awards grants of between £2 and £2.5m each year to a currently broad spectrum of causes.

At a key point in its development, the Trustees are facilitating an exciting time of change and evolution to ensure they are efficient and effective moving forward with a view to increasing impact, accountability and transparency. With this in mind they are seeking a dynamic and skilled Executive Director to work alongside them to help structure, implement and deliver a new strategic direction.

CHK Charity Foundation

Executive Director

Salary £75,000 FTE

4 days per week initially

Location - flexible (will require some travel)

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for someone skilled to come in and review all aspects of an organisation and develop it to the best it can be for future years. This will require a strategic mind, with the ability to advise and guide the Trustees from your knowledge as well as being skilled operationally and able to establish and deliver best practice to get the best results within their environment.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will need to have good knowledge of working within a grant making organisation - some experience and understanding of family Trusts would be an advantage. You will need to be self motivated, flexible and a good ambassador for the organisation, with strong communication skills both internally and externally. This hands-on role will require a genuine balance between strategic capabilities and operational delivery and an understanding of how to establish effective and efficient processes and procedures is essential.
