Volunteering Engagement Officer
Contract:
Permanent
Location: The post-holder will be expected to split their time between our main office on Edgware Road (W2), Charing Cross Hospital (W6) and Hammersmith Hospital (W12)
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday with flexibility to work regular evenings and weekends (approx. 12 weekends/part weekends per year) as the role requires, for which time off in lieu will be given
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum

As we reach the halfway point of our three year Volunteering Strategy, this new role will be responsible for several key elements of our strategy by collaborating with the whole department and wider teams to ensure that we are delivering a high-quality experience for everyone who interacts with the volunteering programme in our hospitals. This is an exciting time to join a relatively new team and help us create a world-leading hospital volunteering programme within a large, multi-site NHS Hospital Trust.

The Volunteering Engagement Officer will lead our engagement methods with volunteers and hospital staff who work with them, including the production of regular e-bulletins for volunteers and their supervisors, as well as the co-ordination of our events and award schemes for volunteers. This role will also be our facts and figures guru, maintaining our key data sets and producing reports as required to highlight achievements and current state of the volunteering programme.

You will be a creative professional with great people skills, highly organized with experience or an interest in working with volunteers and a passion for creating a brilliant quality experience for them. You’ll be an excellent communicator who pays attention to detail to produce the best product who can work well with and lead others in a busy team.

Our generous employee benefits package includes 25 days annual leave (with an additional 3 days during our office Christmas closure and a birthday day) which increases by a day with each year of service, a 10% employer’s pension contribution, free gym membership and free staff arts club membership with access to a range of arts institutions across London. We also have a generous approach to learning and development to support you in your role.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 24 October at 12noon.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a formal interview, which will also involve a presentation task and two activities related to the role week commencing 29 October 2018.
