Job Details

The Actors’ Benevolent Fund seeks to support actors, actresses and stage managers experiencing hardship due to illness, injury or old age. Over the years the organisation has helped and supported many thousands with grants, allowances and help towards domestic living.

The Grants & Administrative Assistant undertakes crucial functions in the day-to-day running of the organisation and is part of a small team of five staff responsible for managing this important charity (a sixth member of the team will be recruited later in 2018 - a second Welfare & Benefits Advisor). You will also be responsible for assisting the General Secretary with all tasks related to the grant-making activity of the Fund.

As you will be the first point of contact within the organisation, you will gain exposure to dealing directly with their beneficiaries, seeing first-hand how your work directly has an impact on helping the organisation's service users.

This role would suit somebody in the early stages of their career in the charity sector. Previous postholders have gone on to work in grant-making charities and arts administration roles. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, be able to work independently, and have a fine attention to detail. In the post you can expect to develop a wide range of transferrable skills and be well placed to progress quickly in the sector.

Previous applicants need not apply.

Closing date: 16th October at 10am

Interviews: Likely to be 22/23 October 2018
