Job Details

Head of Technology
Circa £55,000 per annum

Fixed-term – 12 months (maternity cover)

Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

The newly created Information function at Unicef UK ensures that enterprise technology supports the operational and strategic needs of the organisation.  We deliver all data, information and technology related services and initiatives, and we will be at the forefront of a systems transformation in 2019 so this is an exciting time to join us. This opportunity is for a Head of Technology to cover maternity leave.

As Head of Technology, you will lead the development, delivery, protection and optimisation of Unicef UK’s enterprise technology services to enable us to make the most of how information and technology can help us to achieve our mission: to promote children’s voices, unlock resources and advocate change for children. Specifically, you will be providing technical expertise and leadership to ensure IT service management is effective, drive technology innovation and lead on enterprise technology strategy.

To succeed, you will have strong leadership skills, flexibility and a broad set of professional competencies, including the management of information technology, people, change, finances, suppliers and contracts, as well as enterprise IT governance, information security and emerging technology monitoring.  You will have strong communication skills and excel at developing successful relationships with people at all levels. You will be committed to achieving positive change and champion approaches and insights that enable innovation.

Act now and visit www.unicef.org.uk/jobs to apply online.

Closing date: 5pm, Monday 15 October 2018.

Interview date: Thursday 25 October 2018.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of people, respecting and drawing on different perspectives, skills, experience and knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a criminal records check. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

We only accept online applications as this saves us money, making more funds available for us to help ensure children’s rights. CVs will not be accepted.

If you require support in completing the online form or an application form in an alternative format, please contact Supporter Care on 0300 330 5580 during office hours.

If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please note that we only provide feedback to shortlisted candidates.
