Today, 12 children and young people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support. We fight tirelessly for children and young people with cancer, often when they feel they can’t. We also champion the voices and experiences of young people and their families by researching the issues affecting them and campaigning to make positive change happen.

We’re looking for a talented Policy Officer to join our Policy and Influencing Team to help us with the key policy components of our campaigning work, including our #CancerCosts campaign. As our Policy Officer, you will have a fundamental role in making change happen at CLIC Sargent and in enabling the Policy and Influencing Team to maximise the influence and impact of CLIC Sargent’s campaigning work.

Reporting to the Head of Research, Policy and Campaigning this role is responsible for supporting the delivery of key aspects of CLIC Sargent’s Policy and Influencing Strategy, communicating our policy position about what CLIC Sargent believes needs to change and championing the voices and experiences of young cancer patients to policy makers across the UK. You will be experienced in providing sound policy analysis, producing quality, evidence based policy papers and presenting policy positions with key external stakeholders.

What we offer:

In return for your commitment, we offer a great reward package, which includes generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme and season ticket loan. We also have a flexible working policy and would welcome applications from candidates wanting to work flexibly.

We are always looking for talented people from all backgrounds, to join us and help improve the lives of children and young people with cancer and their families. We particularly want to encourage people from under-represented groups to step forward and apply to work or volunteer with CLIC Sargent.

CLIC Sargent is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
