Governance and Compliance Manager
Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with Frontline to recruit their new Governance and Compliance Manager.
Ideally this role will be full-time for five days per week, however there is flexibility to work three or four days per week.
Frontline transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and more broadly across society. Now in its fourth year, the Frontline Programme works across London and the South East, North West, North East and West Midlands.
Supporting the Senior Leadership team and board of trustees, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent governance and compliance, enabling the charity to continue delivering their long-term goals. Acting as the company secretary you will be responsible for managing key governance processes and relationships, conducting research into new developments, as well as monitoring charitable law updates. The successful candidate will produce papers for board and committee meetings, implementing and reviewing governance processes, including follow ups to board and trustee meetings. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain the policy framework, ensuring policies are accessible and adopted by staff, as well as strengthening the compliance approach and providing guidance. In addition you will maintain their contract management procedures, which will include reviewing contracts, providing guidance when issues arise, and liaising with external legal specialists when their support is required. In addition you will have the opportunity to manage trustee induction and development.
The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills with a background in governance and compliance or experience in a similar role. You will have experience of developing systems, with the ability to influence colleagues whilst working effectively with a variety of stakeholders. You must be able to use your initiative to effectively solve problems and drive continuous change with a proactive and strategic approach to your work. Excellent proof reading skills and attention to detail is essential, along with strong prioritisation skills. This role is ideally suited to someone with experience of working for a small to medium sized charity, who can thrive in a fast paced environment. Legal knowledge and a background in charity governance is desirable as well as a legal, governance, or compliance qualification.
