And when you do, you’ll help create a safer, more just world.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts Fundraising, this role is responsible for managing the major donor team and developing and implementing a strategy to raise income from high net worth individuals in accordance with our fundraising policy and procedures. You will provide leadership, direction and support to enable the team to achieve ambitious targets for growth, ensuring an effective programme of prospect identification, donor cultivation and engagement. A highly visible, external-facing role, you will collaborate with colleagues to present compelling opportunities for engagement, inspiring high net worth individuals to make substantial gifts in support of Amnesty International’s work to protect human rights in the UK and internationally.

About you

You are someone with the drive, skill and ability to take our major donor programme to the next level during the 12 months of this contract.

You will have extensive experience of major donor fundraising, identifying, engaging and stewarding prospective high net worth supporters to personally secure six figure gifts. Solutions-focused, you’ll think and plan strategically and be able to lead a team in the successful implementation of major donor strategy and operational excellence, achieving ambitious income targets and high standards of stewardship. Your excellent communication and relationship skills will mean you are both confident and effective when interacting with senior staff and high net worth individuals alike, identifying and presenting motivating opportunities to support the protection of human rights through Amnesty International’s work, both in the UK and overseas.

You are knowledgeable of regulation and compliance issues relevant to major donor fundraising and you’ll be experienced in managing budgets and forecasting. Enthusiastic and driven, you’re well organised and someone with a proven ability to hit targets. As a line manager to two staff, you will have excellent management skills and an ability to motivate those around you.
