Job Details

Prospectus is pleased to be collaborating with the Grace Eyre Foundation; a dynamic person-centred charity who support people with learning disabilities across Sussex and some areas of London. Their mission is to work toward being an organisation led by people with learning disabilities and to deliver high quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. They are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide tailored support to individuals in their Supported Living and Community Outreach services. This role is offered on a fixed term contract until February 2019, with the potential to be extended until April 2019.

As Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing personal care, as well as supporting individuals with their medication, finance and daily living activities such as cooking shopping etc. Focused on promoting independence and integration into their local community, you will enable service users to build on their strengths and achieve their goals, dreams and wishes. Providing support across Crawley and Horsham, you will work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team to ensure the support and care provided is consistent and meets the needs of service users.

The organisation is looking to recruit enthusiastic, personable individuals who have a desire to develop and learn. To be successful in this role you will be a good communicator and team player who can also work on your own initiative. You will understand the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities and have a value base that promotes the individual development and personal choices of the people who you support.

Due to location, a driving license and access to transport is essential, as is the flexibility to work a seven-day rota of early, late and evening shifts. Finally, an openness to support with personal care is essential and flexibility to work sleep-in shifts is highly desirable.

This is a great opportunity for a flexible, approachable and ambitious individual to join a unique charity who are passionate about increasing opportunities and independence available to individuals with learning disabilities.

Please apply with a Word copy of your CV. Further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
