Legacy Administrator 

Position: Legacy Administrator 
Location: Central London, WC1N 
Job type: Full Time (Part Time available for suitable candidates), Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £Competitive

About the role: 

This role, which is offered full-time or part-time for suitable candidates, is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support functions to the Legacy Administration team which underpin all aspects of the team’s work, with direct responsibility for the pecuniary legacies left to the Charity. 

The Legacy Administration team manages the Charity’s interests in estates in which legacies have been left to the Charity by supporters in their Wills. The team ensures that these are received in a timely manner, that their value is maximised and that the legal rights of the Charity are balanced with the potential PR implications of asserting those rights. 

About you: 

You will need to be detail-orientated and an effective time manager, able to prioritise your workload and critical day to day responsibilities. You will be expected to liaise with a variety of external stakeholders ranging from professional executors and other charities to recently bereaved family members and be able to flex your communication style to suit the varying audiences. 

You will have: 

- The Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM), or be currently studying for the qualification, and/or knowledge of probate law and estate administration 
- Significant experience of working in an administrative environment which demands accuracy and attention to detail 
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and also sympathetically 
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise multiple tasks, work under pressure and within tight deadlines 

The ideal candidate will also have: 

- Working knowledge of the bespoke legacy database FirstClass 
- Experience working on a CRM platform (such as Salesforce or Raisers Edge), ideally in a charity or membership context
