PR Officer

Circa £30,000 per annum

Permanent

Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

We are currently recruiting for a PR Officer to join the media team at Unicef UK.  In this role, you will support the PR Manager and Senior PR Manager across the breadth of Unicef UK’s media work, with specific focus on PR for large scale public fundraising campaigns such as Soccer Aid for Unicef.

To succeed, you will have previous experience in a PR agency, media relations office or in journalism, ideally with experience of working on fast past and high profile issues. We are looking for evidence of proactively delivering high level consumer media coverage and a strong track record of writing communications materials including press releases, features and case studies and implementing communications strategies.

You should have a good knowledge of the UK media, including key journalists across consumer print, broadcast and online media outlets, as well as recent and ongoing humanitarian situations, international development issues and children’s rights.

Act now and visit www.unicef.org.uk/jobs to apply online.

Closing date: 5pm, Thursday 4 October 2018.

Interview date: Wednesday 17 October 2018.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of people, respecting and drawing on different perspectives, skills, experience and knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a criminal records check. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

We only accept online applications as this saves us money, making more funds available for us to help ensure children’s rights. CVs will not be accepted.

If you require support in completing the online form or an application form in an alternative format, please contact Supporter Care on 0300 330 5580 during office hours.

If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please note that we only provide feedback to shortlisted candidates.
