Job Details

Chief Executive Officer – c£36K per annum plus benefits and pension – Malvern, Worcestershire based.

“Every child and young person needs access to excellent social opportunities within their local community”

Exciting opportunity to lead the next stage development and delivery of a unique local not for profit organisation.

Our client is Worcestershire’s leading charity supporting children with special needs and disabilities and their families, dedicated to providing relevant high-quality social opportunities that make a real difference.

They were set up in the 1980s by a group of parents who had children with special needs and has never looked back! Continuing to keep their families at the heart of all they do, they now provide excellent clubs and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities across Malvern and Worcester. Last year alone they provided over 3,300 individual places for more than 200 children and young people.

They do this by:
- Offering play schemes to enable children to socialise, have fun and develop confidence and new skills
- Giving families respite and a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities
- Raising awareness about those in the community with additional needs

“They are an amazing group of people who work tirelessly to provide an ever-changing programme of activities …… My daughter loves going to her club, meeting friends and having fun – she has gained social skills and confidence…..my child is safe and well cared for by a professional caring team”.

They are looking for a special individual to appoint as the next Chief Executive Officer to lead their magnificent team of staff and over 100 volunteers in delivering this critical service.

You will take on their vision, mission and objectives with real passion and commitment, lead with a proactive “can-do” attitude and work calmly under pressure, building understanding and empathy in tandem with strong analytical and problem solving skills, great planning and organisational capabilities.

At least five years senior management experience in the voluntary sector will be key and if you have experience working with children and families and/or people with disabilities then that will be a plus.

They have established a firm funding basis that gives a sound platform over the next three years. However, they are continually developing so you will have strong financial, budget planning and cost management experience and a track record in achieving success funding basis and fundraising as you secure their future.

Their values are centred on commitment, openness, caring and inspiring and constantly striving for more. They are therefore keen to consider candidates from a range of backgrounds who can champion their values and demonstrate their understanding of the relevant issues they face in this sector and who understand the complexities of working in the not for profit environment.

If you want to play a leading part in shaping the future of their services, then they would be delighted to hear from you.

Please apply online to receive the candidate brief and further information on this role. Application is by CV and a covering letter which should indicate why you are interested in applying for the role and how you meet the role requirements.

The closing date for applications is on Monday 8th October with initial interviews taking place that week/the week after. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to interview with the Trustees.
