As a proven fundraiser are you the person we are looking for to support the development and authoring of bids and proposals to Trusts and Foundations, the Big Lottery, Government and other funding Invitations to Tender; and to manage and develop our fundraising activities, focusing on our events programme, which includes our London Marathon Golden Bond places?

If you are the fundraising expert we need we can offer you a supportive environment, worthwhile work as well as the opportunity to build on your talents and make a positive impact on the lives of young people. We are the Youth Sport Trust. We are the leading youth sport charity and are devoted to improving the lives of young people through high quality PE and sport. We are an ambitious charity with a clear vision for growth and a strong sense of values.

As Grants and Fundraising Manager you will position us to be able to effectively respond to funding opportunities. This will involve working closely with our Innovation team and Heads of Department to scope out and cost a pipeline of projects aligned to our mission and strategy. This will include establishing and growing a fundraising supporter database, developing processes to gather greater insight into them and identifying ways of engaging them more fully with our work. In addition to leading relationships with individual supporters, you will also deliver an annual challenge and events programme, manage Charity of the Year partnerships and develop specific fundraising campaigns. Important too will be the ability to monitor income, manage CRM activity and provide regular reporting.

You will demonstrate an enviable record of delivering increased funding from a range of sources, such as trusts and foundations, government and the big lottery. Effective at researching funding opportunities you will be able to demonstrate a history of developing and implementing successful fundraising initiatives and processes. You will also possess a good understanding of fundraising techniques. An effective project manager you will be good at planning and have an eye for detail.  A skilled communicator you will excel at building relationships, influencing others and team working.

Youth Sport Trust positively welcomes and seeks to ensure we achieve diversity in our workforce and that all job applicants and employees receive equal and fair treatment. We encourage applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, gender, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.

If you have the skills to deliver increased income to support our work to build a brighter future for young people through sport please visit our website and apply online via the link.

Company

The Youth Sport Trust is a registered charity, established in 1994.

Our mission is to build a brighter future for young people by enhancing the quality of their physical education (PE) and sporting opportunities.

  • We want to increase young people’s participation and enjoyment of PE and school sport.
  • We want young people to have the chance to experience and enjoy different types of activity at whatever level is right for them.
  • We want to ensure youngsters receive the best teaching, coaching and resources possible and have the chance to progress if they show talent.
  • We want to help our young people to live healthy and active lives and to be the best they can be.

How we achieve our aims

Our objectives are achieved through the educational sporting programmes that we produce. These are delivered through schools and are supported by a range of corporate partners, trusts and foundations and government departments.

Another important area of work is our support of Specialist Sports Colleges. These designated sports-focused schools are at the hub of the government’s strategy to enhance young people’s opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports. They also raise the standards of teaching and learning in PE and school sport, and across the curriculum. To assist Sports Colleges in the achievement of these aims, we provide them with a framework of support and resources.
