Family Resettlement Worker
Our client is a national charity that supports those affected by imprisonment and their children and families.
Position: Family Resettlement Worker
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Job type: Part Time, 12 months maternity cover Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary: £16,000 per annum (FTE £20,000)

About the role:
They’re looking to recruit a part time Family Resettlement Worker for 12 months to cover maternity leave at HMP Preston. The team will help deliver individual family and relationship case work-support and a range of group-based family and relationship intervention training programmes.
The Family Resettlement Workers will work closely with prison-based colleagues to promote the service and generate referrals of suitable participants. Another key aspect of the role will be reporting on the level and nature of direct support provided to each individual, and to keep track of the progress each individual makes throughout that support.
About you:
They’re looking to appoint people with experience of supporting individuals with multiple and complex needs to overcome barriers, and therefore have an appreciation of safeguarding, personal safety and professional boundaries. Ideally you will also have interagency work experience (building partnerships, promoting positive relationships between different agencies.
You will be comfortable delivering support on a 1-2-1 basis and also to groups, in a prison setting. You will be a self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritise your own work.
Finally, you will understand the importance of tracking your activities, as the success of the service will be dependent on the team delivering the contracted support time and interventions for the benefit of service users.
The successful candidate will have excellent listening skills, the ability to develop relationships with clients, volunteers, and other stakeholders, proven experience of achieving qualitative and quantitative targets, and an understanding of the criminal justice system.
The delivery for this post is at HMP Preston and some delivery at HMP Lancaster Farms.
