Support Worker / Caseworker (Rehabilitation) 

Our client is a national charity that supports offenders, ex-offenders, and their children and families. 

Position: Through the Gate Mentor 
Location: Bristol Bristol-based office but with extensive travel across Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. 
Job type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 18.75 hours per week 
Salary: £10,000 per annum (FTE 20,000 for 37.5 hours per week)

About the role: 

Our client is looking to recruit a part time Through the Gate Mentor based in Bristol. Although you will have a central base at the Restore Trust, your role will involve regular extensive travel through your geographical region. 

You will be responsible for a caseload of people with convictions who are being released from prison, and will be responsible for providing them with appropriate support to ensure a successful resettlement into the community. You will provide one to one casework and this may include meeting the offender whilst still in custody to complete an action plan, meeting them at the gate on release, accompanying to appointments and supported referrals. 

About you: 

You will need to build and maintain effective relationships with prisons, Community Rehabilitation Companies and community agencies, ensuring successful referral and feedback mechanisms are in place and providing timely and regular information to the Mentoring Co-Ordinator with regards to targets, progress and issues.

Please note that being bankrupt or having County Court Judgements may affect your ability to be successfully vetted to work in a prison.
