Hampshire Cultural Trust is an independent charity, established in 2014 to promote Hampshire as a county that offers outstanding cultural experiences to both its residents and visitors. From museums to galleries to arts centres, managing and supporting 23 attractions across the county. The trust runs a huge variety of workshops, classes, events and projects for both young and old, in schools and in communities, with particular emphasis on reaching people who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.

Milestones Museum is our flagship visitor attraction, welcoming over 100,000 visitors every year to this living history experience.

Museum Director

The Museum Director position is a newly created role within the organisation. Working closely with the Director of Cultural Operations, the Museum Director will develop and deliver the strategic vision for Milestones Museum and Basing House, maximising the commercial impact and audience reach of the venues.

With accountability for a budget of up to £2m and leading a lean team, you will be responsible for ensuring the venues are efficient and achieve maximum impact from available resources, delivering a profitable business and marketing strategy and an enhanced customer experience.

Hampshire Cultural Trust is looking for an individual with significant experience in the development of venues as a commercial enterprise, with a successful track record of maximising visitor experience and financial targets. Critically, you will have managed organisational growth and have an in-depth understanding of how to increase income generation and develop effective marketing plans.

You will have strong influencing and negotiation skills and an ability to form highly effective relationships across a wide spectrum of stakeholders, internally and externally.
