With an active research portfolio totalling over £400m, the Research Communications Officer plays a vital role as the link between BHF-funded researchers and the public. You'll play a key role in using the media and BHF's own external communication channels to tell the story of how our research is saving and improving the lives of heart patients.

About you
Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will be talented at translating medical research into great stories, and bringing these to life using BHF researchers and case studies.
Able to write and issue press releases to national and regional journalists, you'll coordinate media interviews and write reactive statements to breaking news stories. Building relationships with key health and science journalists, as well as with BHF-funded researchers you'll keep up to date with who and what we fund.
This varied role would suit an enthusiastic media professional with superb interpersonal and account management skills coupled with press office experience. You will also need to demonstrate an ability to write fluently and persuasively for a range of audiences.
