Part-Time Finance and Governance Manager
Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with Neighbourhood Watch to recruit their part-time Finance and Governance Manager. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with the Chief Executive and Treasurer ensuring effective management of the finance function.
Neighbourhood Watch supports and represents a grassroots, volunteer-led group of organisations under the Neighbourhood Watch brand and are in a position to expand their work to more communities across the UK. Neighbourhood Watch was founded on the premise of bringing people together as neighbours and communities to help prevent crime and all evidence suggests that the need for this today is as great as it has ever been.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing budgets, management accounts, forecasts, statutory accounts and annual audits. You will be responsible for payroll and grant administration, as well as bank reconciliation, petty cash, financial reporting and journal preparation. In addition you will have the opportunity to provide governance support to the Board of Trustees, assisting with developing policies and procedures.
The selected candidate will have a background in charity accounting including payroll administration, and have experience of producing management and year end accounts. Experience of using Sage software is essential along with knowledge of Charity SORP guidelines. You will be highly organised, and have an understanding of financial management for a small organisation. Advanced experience of Excel is required along with excellent analytical skills. You must also have the ability to plan and support board meetings, providing guidance on governance issues. A full or part ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification is desirable.
