In 2019 Waltham Forest will become the first ever London Borough of Culture. Cultural events and projects will be taking place across the borough throughout the year. We’ll be actively recruiting and engaging volunteers in the planning and delivery of these exciting and unique events and activities.

Contract: Fixed term contract until August 2020
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours

The Waltham Forest Borough of Culture Volunteer Coordinator will lead the recruitment, training and deployment of volunteers to the programme of events and projects. The postholder will be passionate about volunteering, empowering others to volunteer and experienced in the brokerage of volunteers into Volunteer-Involving Organisations.

The postholder will be experienced in the coordination and management of event volunteers at high profile events.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for liaising with event and project organisers and facilitating informative and interactive training to prospective volunteers.  The postholder will hold excellent planning, organisational and prioritising skills, alongside good MS Office skills. Experience in the use of CRM volunteer platform databases will be advantageous.

This role presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in engaging local people in the 2019 Waltham Forest Borough of Culture and establishing a lasting legacy for the borough.
