Head of Community and Events

Beckton, London (Greater)
Salary
£40,000 per annum
Closing date

The post

The community and events programme is an important income stream for Richard House, and one we are aiming to grow over the next three years. The events portfolio is well established and features major UK-based runs, cycles, skydives and challenges. The highlight of the events calendar is a flagship charity abseil, which is exclusively for Richard House. In 2018, the event saw nearly 100 participants descending one of the tallest buildings in London. Community fundraising activities focus on encouraging the diverse communities of east London to support their local children’s hospice. Innovation is a big part of this role and targeting the large Muslim population of the area will be key. There is scope for reviewing all community and events initiatives and developing new activities that would increase support. The Head of Community and Events manages two Community and Events Managers.

This role will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to review current fundraising activities, build upon successes and implement strategic planning and delivery for the team. The successful candidate should bring with them experience and knowledge of the fundraising sector as well as the drive and ambition to increase income for the charity.
