Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Contract type: Part time, Permanent
Hours: 21 per week
Salary: £12,207 actual per annum

About the role:
They are looking for an exceptional individual to join their high performing team in Lincoln. You will provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers across Lincolnshire, helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them more in control of their lives. You will work to promote the wide variety of services and activities across the county and liaise with stakeholders, internal and external partners to develop awareness of and initiatives to support dementia.
As a Dementia Support Worker you will assist in coordinating, organising and facilitate the engaging and safe running of their Dementia Cafés aimed at informing, educating, and supporting those affected by dementia, as well as their Singing for the Brain groups, providing social interaction and stimulation through music. The role will involve effective service user involvement, co-ordination and role management of service related volunteers.
About you:
They are looking for an enthusiastic individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those affected by dementia. An ability to assess the service user needs along with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills, particularly in group settings, and this role requires regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable. Working extensively with volunteers, you will have considerable experience of effective role management and be able to communicate the Society’s Values and Behaviours to ensure their awareness of Strategy and key objectives to support people affected by dementia.
You may be responsible for your own caseload therefore the ability to manage your own time effectively is essential. Your workload will be varied so they are looking for someone with the right mix of enthusiasm, professionalism and flexibility who is able and willing to work in a variety of settings.
