Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Darlington & Tees Valley
Contract type: Part time, Fixed Term - 6 months (maternity cover)
Hours: 28 per week
Salary: £16,276 actual per annum
Closing date: 5pm on Thursday 27th September
Interview date: Friday 5th October
About the role:
As a Dementia Support Worker you will champion the needs of people with dementia and their carers through raising awareness. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of group based activities in the area along with role managing the volunteers that support these groups. You will also be responsible for maintaining a case load of 1:1 ongoing support to people with dementia and their carers.
You will recognise that you can’t do it all yourself and that the support of their partner agencies is also important in effectively meeting the needs of people with dementia and their carers therefore you will also work with their partners in other agencies where required.
You will be expected to attend relevant meetings and develop networks and identify and support potential joint working ventures. This role involves regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable.
