Job Details

Prospectus is excited to be partnering exclusively with Positively UK to search for a new Fundraising Manager to join a passionate and vibrant team. The charity is focused on providing peer-led support, advocacy and information to women, men and young people living with HIV to manage any aspect of their diagnosis and care, and how to manage life with HIV. This role will focus on working with UK-based trusts, foundations and corporate partners, managing their existing relationships and seeking out new revenue streams. The position is offered on a permanent basis only to work 28 hours per week.

In the last financial year the organisation generated around £950,000 in income with the majority coming from a mixture of large multi-year grants from trusts that are tied to their programmes, a small number of Local Authority contracts and around £110,000 from a collection of corporate partners. The relationships with key stakeholders within Positively UK's funders are held by senior members of the team and are well established, giving the new Fundraising Manager a platform and warm contacts to build from. Positively UK have great reach with the income they have and with the right person in post there is potential to expand their funding base and grow their reach even further.

This is a great time to join the organisation as they are now developing a new five-year strategy and you can be part it. They are already a key player as a stakeholder of NHS England's Clinical Reference Group for HIV and partners in London's Fast-Track Cities Initiative, and are committed to the aim of Getting to Zero Stigma, Zero New Transmissions, Zero Deaths by 2030. Their ambition is to provide peer led support to all people living with HIV in the UK by 2020 and they are on their way to realising that goal.

They are looking for someone with strong copy writing skills, a good ability to research new prospects and a track record of securing large multi-year bids. You will need to have an empathy for those who live with HIV and be able to talk about it in frank terms with others internally and externally.
