Tender for delivery of Business Development Functions

Price: £34,500 inclusive of any VAT and to include all costs. (There will be no facility to claim additional fees from Citizens Advice Essex with regards to this work)

Duration: 12-months start date to be agreed (can be extended by mutual agreement)
Context:

Citizens Advice Essex is a consortium of 12 Local Citizens Advice (LCA) Centres, working collaboratively to improve information, advice, guidance and advocacy services for the people of Essex including the unitary authorities of Southend and Thurrock.

We have secured funding for a Business Development function to enhance the following areas of our work:
• Applications for, or negotiation of, new County-wide grants and contracts
• Delivery of new county wide services
• Greater impact of the Citizens Advice service for clients and stakeholders
• Closer inter-working and shared services between Local Citizens Advice offices
• Partnership working between Citizens Advice Essex and Local Citizens Advice managers to assist the development of new and diverse funding streams adding further value to CA Essex.
• A single point of contact for the Citizens Advice Service for county or higher level funding agencies and stakeholders to maintain and develop services
• More effective partnership working with external organisations
• Co-ordination where appropriate of research and campaigning (social policy), particularly where this is linked to new funding

HOW TO APPLY:
Submit an expression of interest setting out the following:
• How you would deliver on the functions as set out above.
• What relevant qualities and experience would the individuals working
on the contract have?
• What experience you or your organisation have in the 3rd sector.
• Details of any relevant track record of this type of work.
We will assess expressions of interest on the following basis:
• Value for money – 10 potential points
• Closeness of fit with our intentions – 50 potential points
• Track record - 20 potential points
• The extent to which those working on the contract have the qualities
and experience we are looking for - 20 potential points

Only those shortlisted will be contacted.

Those shortlisted will be invited to deliver a presentation to Citizens Advice
Essex. Details of any presentation will be provided to those shortlisted.

We are running a recruitment exercise for a Business Development Manager
concurrent with this tender exercise.

When making our final decision we will not only be comparing your tender to
any other tenders, but we will also be making a judgement as to how your
proposal and presentation compares to that of the candidates shortlisted for
an employed role.
