Service Coordinator (Charity / Volunteer Management)

Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Group Coordinator 
Location: Cambridgeshire 
Contract type: Part time, Permanent 
Hours: 16 per week 
Salary: £8,508 actual per annum 

Closing date: 5pm on Sunday 30th September 
Interview date: Monday 15th October 


About the role: 

As the Group Coordinator you will coordinate, organise and facilitate the engaging and safe running of group services aimed to inform, educate, and support those affected by dementia. The type of service delivered in a group setting is varied and includes: Dementia Café’s and Peer Support Groups. 

The sessions need to be well designed and allow participants to fully engage to maximise their enjoyment and the beneficial impact; taking account of individual needs of group attendees when designing group sessions and adjusting the programme as necessary. 

The role will involve effective service user involvement, co-ordination and role management of service related volunteers and liaising with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations in the area to market and promote services. 

About you: 

- They are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) 
- You will have an understanding of dementia and the needs of all those affected by dementia 
- You will be self-motivated and have experience, confidence and enthusiasm to deliver services on your own with the support of volunteers 
- You will have the passion to deliver services to the highest standards and be empathetic to the needs of people living with dementia 
- Previous volunteer management experience is desirable 
- This role involves regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable 
- You will be required to travel independently throughout Cambridgeshire.
