Job Title: Information & Compliance Lead
Contract Length: 
Permanent (six-month probationary period)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Line Manager: Chief Executive

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience

Our charity provides a range of services for local people and businesses in Salford and we require an experienced Information and Compliance Lead to join our team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 
Your main duties shall include but will not be limited to:

  • Overseeing monthly and quarterly service reporting to commissioners and funders
  • Working with project leads to find innovative ways of evaluating new projects including demonstrating social value
  • Assuring compliance is maintained throughout all charitable and business functions through devising, spearheading and implementing compliance standards
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including Health &Safety, safeguarding and all reporting activities
  • Liaising with our Financial Director to ensure management accounts are received and distributed in a timely manner
  • Overseeing the charity’s quality marks, ensuring action is taken to meet relevant standards
  • Generating, collating and analysing data and management information to identify opportunities for development of services / activities
  • Maintaining and developing internal policies and processes to ensure compliance with external requirements
  • Supporting bid writing through provision of information
  • Attending meetings and seminars with external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Promoting the value and importance of effective compliance and information governing within the charity
  • Work with and support the senior team, providing advice and guidance to ensure that patient and staff identifiable information is properly managed in line with relevant legislation and local policy
  • Auditing, monitoring and reviewing compliance management in line with policies, procedures, legislation and guidelines) ensuring implementation of recommended actions
  • Providing guidance on complex, sensitive or contentious matters to address remedial actions, where required
  • Planning, organising and facilitating Information and compliance training programmes to staff at all levels
  • Researching and keeping abreast of legislative changes that affect the charity
  • Contributing to policy development and implementation, including review and maintaining the charities policies
  • Ensuring that any risks are identified and analysed from audit, inspection and legislative requirements and communicated to senior staff
  • Working effectively with others (members of the public, legal representatives, staff) communicating information that may be complex and contentious for dealing with their queries in respect of Information Governance and compliance issues

Person Specification 
Candidates shall ideally have/be:

  • Experience within a similar or relevant role
  • A good understanding of information and compliance principles and the laws under which they operate
  • Experience of GDPR and the implementation of its requirements and principle
  • Skilled in collating, analysing and communicating complex information to diverse stakeholders
  • An ability to innovate
  • Self-motivated and passionate about making a difference
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experience of working and engaging with a variety of staff/stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to keep concise and complete records
  • Able & willing to learn and adapt and to develop in the role and engage positively with new ways of working, and to seek out appropriate training for your own professional development
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to complete tasks fully independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to focus, plan and manage workload in a busy working environment
  • Ability to communicate information through tables, graphs, reports and presentations
  • Report writing & presentation skills
  • Keen problem solver and information gatherer
  • Flexible and self-motivated, able to work autonomously within broad guidelines, delivering to deadlines
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities & diversity, confidentiality & data protection
  • IT literate and Numerate and comfortable working with numerical data
