Charityworks exists to advance the quality of leadership and management in the UK non-profit sector so that the people and communities who rely on their services benefit from the help they need. Now in its 10th year Charityworks has established a successful track-record of attracting thousands of talented young people to pursue a career in charities and social housing organisations through a UK wide graduate recruitment and development programme. 2018 sees the charity extend its mission further through 2027, a new programme designed to diversify the talent mix within the foundation and trust sector by recruiting people from a working class background.

We are looking for an experienced and capable Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees and bring financial expertise to ensure robust monitoring, reporting and strategic planning.

Experience required:

  • Financial and business experience at an appropriate level which (desirable but not essential) would include being a qualified member of  a recognised accountancy body
  • An understanding of the charity sector, for example an appreciation of the operations, accounting (including SORP) and legal framework in the UK
  • Some experience of charity fundraising is desirable
  • Understanding of being part of a network or a decentralised organisation
  • An interest in understanding the issues Charityworks is seeking to address and the impact we aim to achieve.
