Our client is a dynamic charity working to ensure every child is in school ready to learn. For over 30 years it has been working with children and young people struggling to stay in school due to a wide range of complex issues. They get children and young people back in school ready to learn, whatever it takes.
This is an opportunity to work alongside Knowleswood Primary School to support children and families to improve issues which are causing poor attendance and behaviour, helping parents to become more engaged with their child’s learning attainment and aspirations.
School-Home Support Practitioner
Knowleswood Primary School, Bradford
4 days per week (potential of 5 days-a-week TBC), Term time only
Fixed term contract for 1 year with potential to extend
Starting salary: £20,500 fte to £23,145 fte depending upon experience
The practitioner will work with pupils and their families in Knowleswood Primary School to provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable families across the school.
The role will include working with the whole family to tackle poor attendance and behaviour, helping parents to become more engaged with their child’s learning and engaging parents in family learning. Successful candidates will have experience working in a school environment, delivering learning programmes and strong abilities in engaging challenging children and their parents.
Duties of the role:
- Provide targeted casework for vulnerable pupils and families
- Organise group work for both children and families
- Provide 1:1 emotional and practical support for families
- Encourage parental engagement in learning
- Undertake work supporting improved attendance
- Support wider parental engagement in school
- Work as part of a team
- Collate and utilise data and statistics and produce reports for the funder
