Night Concierge (Charity / Supported Housing)

Position: Night Concierge 
Location: Mildmay House, Liverpool, Merseyside (Commutable from St Helens, Warrington, Runcorn, Ellesmere Port, Chester and surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 40 hours per week 
Salary: £13,232 to £19,598 per annum dependent on experience

About the role: 

The purpose of the Night Concierge post is to provide an on-site presence at supported accommodation operated by our client, which includes waking cover overnight both during the weekdays and at weekends, in maintaining the safety and security of the building. 

Responsibilities: 

- Provide a first point of contact and ensure that clear and concise information is detailed to any on call staff at the scheme when necessary 
- Supervise the entry and exiting of the building, for the purpose of security and safety, monitor CCTV and patrol at regular intervals recording all findings 
- Take appropriate immediate action in contacting emergency services and to accordingly take further action if required with authorisation limits 
- Appropriately enforce tenancy conditions and house rules, following policy and local procedures to ensure that no misbehaviour is likely to have an effect on good order 
- Reporting incidents and manage anti-social behaviour that affects the building or presents a risk to communal safety 
- In the absence of cleaning staff, to carry out cleaning duties of common areas and vacant rooms in order to prepare rooms for letting 
- Complete housing management tasks which relate to the effective management of current and former tenant arrears 
- Monitor cleaning and stationary supplies required for the service where applicable 

About you: 

- Good communication skills 
- Able to influence others through discussion 
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to defuse charged situations 
- Understand risk and how to respond appropriately 
- Calm under pressure and ability to think logically 
- Able to manage multiple requests for service at the same time 
- IT literate and able to record incidents within the IT system 
- Flexibility with working hour with the ability to work outside normal working hours in accordance with the needs of the business in a shift working pattern 
- Understanding the challenges facing vulnerable people and the difficulties that these can present in a supported housing environment 
- Understanding the basic principles of building security and safety 
- Experience of working with people 
- Experience of working unsociable hours
