The Organisation

The Open University Students Association serves the interests of around 170,000 diverse part-time and distance-learning students spread across the UK, continental Europe and beyond. Our mission is to be the community for, and voice of, all Open University students. The OU Students Association is an independent registered charity, governed by elected student leaders. Our small team of dedicated, professional staff provide the vital support needed to deliver excellent services across the breadth of our student population.

The Job

This is a newly-created senior management post dedicated to strong financial leadership and risk management but also offering a real opportunity to take on a broader remit and play a key role in our future development. The post-holder will lead on the successful management, growth and effective communication of our resources whilst working closely with the rest of the management team, Trustees and student leadership team on delivering our mission to be the voice of and community for all OU students. The post-holder will also be encouraged to take on a wider portfolio, offering a chance to be keenly involved in other areas of work and to take forward projects and exciting new developments.

The Person

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant with strong charity financial management experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be excited by the opportunity offered within this role to develop your career and create wider impact. You will need to be highly self-motivated, have an empowering and enabling approach to management, have meticulous attention to detail and be enthused by our mission, strategy, values and future prospects.
