Our vision is for a prosperous and fair society in which learning and work provide opportunities for everyone to realise their potential and ambitions throughout life.
The Deputy Director of Research and Development plays a critical role within the Research and Development team, with responsibility for a team of experts, delivering a range of projects across the public and commercial sectors. You will take responsibility for developing a clear programme of research and development work, ensuring it delivers positive impact on policy and practice.
With a background in research, familiar with the scope of our work and credible in engaging with government, you will bring an expert understanding of current policy and practice in learning, skills and/or employment and knowledge of national and local/regional government contexts. You will bring extensive expertise and experience in leading major programmes of research and development work, building and leading high-performing teams, achieving impact on public policy and practice, business development and fundraising, and the policy and delivery context of learning, skills and/or employment.
Learning and Work Institute is a Silver Investors in People Award holder, so our people matter. You will be a confident leader and people manager, who can empower and inspire teams to deliver and innovate. You will also be credible at senior and national level, engaging and influencing an extensive range of stakeholders including politicians and policymaker to make sure we maximise our impact and make a difference.
