Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Legacy Marketing Manager to raise awareness of the important role gifts in wills and in memory gifts play in funding our work.

In our Fundraising & Marketing team, we fight for children every single day. We inspire millions of people, from individuals to large corporates, to support our quest for change. Legacy income is worth more than £18m to Save the Children every year and In Memoriam more than £300k. This is an exciting time to join the Legacies team as Save the Children continues to invest in legacy marketing particularly in broadcast and digital activity and regional supporter events.

As Legacy Marketing Manager you will be responsible for delivering legacy marketing campaigns to inspire supporters to consider leaving a gift in their wills. Working closely with the Head of Legacies, you will develop the strategy and manage the team budget for key areas of the legacy and in memory programmes with full consideration of audiences, products, proposition and channels.  You will also:

  • Provide strong line management support to two direct reports, ensuring they have appropriate learning and development opportunities to enable them to fulfil their potential
  • Forge excellent relationships with key stakeholders across internal teams, such as acquisition, retention, community giving, digital marketing, brand marketing, campaigns and supporter care
  • Work with a range of key partners, including marketing agencies, freelance creative and print production companies to ensure they are delivering their best for Save the Children
  • Ensure that data processes are fully effective, marketing campaigns are thoroughly analysed and evaluated, and future marketing campaigns are shaped as a result of insight and learning
  • Lead implementation of CRM and audience strategies into relevant areas of legacy and in memory programmes.

To be successful you will have proven experience delivering successful fundraising or direct marketing campaigns, ideally with some exposure to legacy marketing.  You will be an outstanding project manager with the ability to plan and manage marketing activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget. Passionate about delivering excellent experiences to Save the Children supporters, you will also have:

  • Line management experience, with the ability to lead and develop successful teams
  • Experience of copy writing and of creative and report writing
  • A proven track record of using and understanding data and analysis to inform decision-making on delivering effective marketing activities
  • Experience of working and building excellent relationships with external suppliers, and internal teams
  • The ability to analyse financial and statistical information and produce comprehensive reports using this information
  • A high level of computer literacy, including experience of MS Office, and the ability to work with a CRM system.

You must also have the ability and willingness to travel within the UK as required.

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

If you share our belief in the power of children, join the fight. It takes relentless determination, creativity and a real commitment to real change. Because every child should be able to make their mark on their world, and help to build a better future. We look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date: Sunday 23rd September

Interviews will be held on Monday 1st October in our London Farringdon office.

Company

We're the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.

We're working flat-out to right the fundamental wrongs that affect children.

Too many children are still dying because they haven't got enough food or because they can't get treatment for simple illnesses. Millions aren't getting an education and are being exploited and abused. This is not good enough.

We're changing this, partly by working directly with children, and partly by using our experience and influence to persuade governments and others who are responsible for children to do the right thing by them.

We seek out the most marginalised children, wherever they are in the world, so that means we work in a really broad range of countries, from fragile states like Afghanistan, to developed countries like here in the UK. We work closely with our colleagues in the International Save the Children Alliance, both in our programmes with children and in our international campaigns and advocacy work.

We have high ambitions for what's achievable for children - we aim to inspire dramatic change for children and to involve them in creating that change. We'd like you to get involved too.
